The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

5.0

This book was my most anticipated read of 2023, I'm so glad I crawled out from whatever rock I was under to read this one. The way this book held out different narratives and combined multiple genres together was beyond impressive. The kind of book that isn't cramped with too much plot which gave me the chance to just simply think and enjoy as the storyline travelled through the life of an immortal. The main protagonist Addie immediately became one of my favourites with her groundbreaking personality. Most people didn’t like this book saying it was just too long and boring, no 'will blow you out of your mind' moments. But honestly, after reading so much complicated YA series where it'd get impossible to remember a single detail halfway through, this was exactly the kind of book I needed.

- I heard somewhere that the name 'Lucien' means light and the irony of it having to do anything with the darkness itself is outright funny.
