Is saying I loved it over-rated? Because I did. I've been fighting a reading slump since the middle of May, and this is the book I needed to bring me out of it. I've been loving murder mysteries lately, so the fact that this also had romance included, was a double win. Riley did an amazing job at blending the plot with the romance, and it never felt like we're tipping heavily to either side. I got annoyed at our main character Vivian at times but she had valid feeling towards her romance with Chris during the investigation, and it was interesting to see him trying to navigate the work/life balance with her. This book definitely gives off small town with all the medaling from both families, the town turning up to get the latest scoop, wait staff knowing regulars orders, etc. It is everything you want from a small town romance book, just through in a murder mystery.

One of the big things for me is a mystery ending paying off in the end, and this truly did. I wasn't sure what was happening with the case and where it could go, and was surprised by the ending. It didn't leave me hanging, and I loved how it slowly got revealed. Ray Riley, please keep writing murder mystery romance novels, because I will be your best customer!
If this book isn't already on your TBR, I highly recommend adding it.
