Aux Cinq Rues, Lima by Mario Vargas Llosa
2.0
I usually love Mario Vargas Llosa’s novels, that are some of my favourite ever, but this is one I just quit reading after a 100 pages (and it’s just 300 pages). It was simply extremely boring and I don’t want to waste time going on with a story and characters that I don’t care about. The opening sec thing felt a bit gratuitous and a classic « girl on girl » fantasy by a male author. Actually, this is unfortunately the second book by Llosa that I can’t finish, the other one was the fictionalised biography of Gaugin, that I had to stop because I was so disgusted by the graphic descriptions of sex with underaged girls. So I guess I am falling out of love with Llosa, but hopefully things will turn around to ne what they use to be next time I pick one of his novel!
