I love this series because of all of the strong female characters (Is Sera awesome or what?) and the plot is so intense and thick that I can't wait to read the next book.
I do however kinda hate all the insta love that occurs throughout the series, and also there wasn't really a climax in this book.
However! I love seeing all the major character development we see throughout this book and series. I love that we get to see the camps that Rafe Mfeme runs in more detail to see the struggles and just how intense and awful he is.
Also Jesus Crust Lucia! She starts off so sweet and under the control of her parents and then at the end she's so interesting and terrifying.
A fantasy book I would recommend to book lovers and mermaid lovers alike. (Also the first book is slow but the second book is where the stuff learned in the first book really gets picked up).
