Perfection was a reread for me. With the author’s newest book, Eva and Eve, releasing next week I wanted to revisit Perfection and see if my feelings were the same as years ago. I’m happy to say, I loved it just as much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis: Author Julie Metz has a seemingly perfect life with an adoring husband and healthy, happy daughter all wrapped up in a beautiful home in the suburbs. But it turns out to all be a betrayal. Julie’s life changes forever when her husband unexpectedly collapses and dies. Julie is left to unravel information that forces her to rebuild her life.

I think I read Perfection for the first time back in 2010-2012? I had just gone through a time of betrayal in my life (although not to the extent of the author) and I remember her words ringing so true for me. In Perfection, Julie Metz has a way of digging deep into emotions, thoughts, insecurities that arise when you feel deceived. I felt like I was reliving her pain from this time in her life and I can remember MY own pain from these years ago. I have to say though, I felt an incredible amount of hope through the book as well! Not only does Julie grow through her healing in Perfection, but knowing Julie has a brand new book releasing next week in conjunction with my own growth since my past experiences - I felt hope and faith were recurring themes for me.

Ten years later, this story still rings true. If you get the opportunity to read this next month, I highly recommend it!
