This book is definitely popular for a reason. I accidentally read it in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. All of the characters were so vivid and I loved the overall arc of the story. I would say although it unpacks issues like sexism in the 60s, there is not much on racism at the time, but perhaps this would have been the wrong character to explore this theme with.
