For my library reading challenge I had to read at least one book set in the 19th century, and chose to pick up Wuthering Heights one more time after 30 years, and my perspective could not have changed more. I remember kind of liking it as an adolescent, but from the feminist point of view of a 42 year old woman living in the 21st century, it is a disaster unfolding in front of my eyes. Heathcliff is such a selfish, detestable and misogynistic character! The whole novel is basically people being horrible to each other and driving each other to ruin.
But then again, I was never one to fall for the "toxic bad boy"
