The Gate to Women's Country by Sheri S. Tepper

Did not finish book. Stopped at 25%.
I bought this instead of my usual library checkout because it fit my theme and I thought it would be good to read some older women’s science-fiction, but I should have read more about it first. Right away I realized that this world was based on a strong gender binary that left no room for the existence of intersex or trans people. I could understand this based on the time period (1980s), but when the story presented homosexuality as a birth defect that they “cured” in the womb, I decided there were probably better examples of older women’s sci-fi I could read instead.
