Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano
3.5
reflective sad slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This is a book about four sisters and how they navigate lifetimes of joy and heartbreak together.

I found the first two thirds of this book dull. It was slow to start off and focused on character development rather than plot, so I feel like nothing happened. In the last third the pace picked up which I enjoyed. I liked how time between chapters was fast and flowing, and all of the lose ends seemed to tie up.

On reflection I suppose I do see the benefit in heavy character development because I did end up loving most of them, however overall I think I need more of a balance between character and plot.
