★★★ 3 stars

Look, I know that the book is YA, but the teen drama in this one was really too much. I really liked the mystery, especially the setting and the characters, and I honestly would have loved to read a book just about the Nine. The dark academia vibes were immaculate. The ending could have been better (it was too out of the blue, I think), but I really liked how the mystery was slowly solved in stages.
But the part about Stevie and the gang was really boring to me and I really didn't care. Nothing really happens with them, except at the very end (and that's a cliffhanger I didn't really need).
I think I will read the next book because I am curious, but after the trilogy the quality of the books has been declining, in my opinion.
