A History of My Brief Body by Billy-Ray Belcourt

4.0

I have never read anything in this style and Billy-Ray Belcourt is at once incredibly emotionally nuanced as well as rationally charged. It is written in different styles and is both very academic and deeply personal.

For the most part this was not 'enjoyable' reading. It was raw and informative and uncomfortable but it was deeply deeply beautiful.

In particular, the essay 'Robert' was a lovely and harrowing story of a relationship.
