Fable by Adrienne Young
2.0
It may have been the audiobook reader, but ohhh was that a whole lot of nothing. Just kinda bored for most of it, and it took ages to get through. I don't even have anything withering to say about it, just...bleh. There wasn't reaely a drive to anything; theoretically it was about finding family but I'm not sure sleeping with the captain and giving everyone a lot of money really makes you part of the family, even if they all kind of accept you for it. No urgency or interest except when the ship was damaged--that's the only time I really felt invested, and it was because I liked the ship more than anyone else in the book.
Fable doesn't have much more character than general "I'm tough"--I never felt especially connected, which, in a first person story, sure is a weird experience.
