It Starts with Us
by Colleen Hoover
Where do I start?
I have to say I went into this book expecting more trauma after It Ends With Us shattered my heart and yes there were moments where I sobbed.
I sobbed for young Atlas
I sobbed Theo
I sobbed for Josh
I sobbed for Lily and Ryle
I sobbed for Emmerson
Mostly I sobbed absolute tears of joy.
Josh was a heartbreaking surprise i didn't see coming but one the story so wholeheartedly needed; a part that Atlas so deeply needed. I loved that he took his brother in and they worked together on being a family honestly the line where Josh said their family tree would start with them had me sobbing ugly tears at my work desk.
Theo, damn this kids humor was something I would love to be around daily I l LOVED his part in the book and I loved the LGBTQ+ representation. I was INSANELY PROUD when Josh didn't give a flying toot about supporting his best friend at a pride festival.
Lily remained such a relatable character throughout the book. I feared with her, I had anxiety with her over the new relationship and I fell head over heels with her.
Atlas is the sort of man every woman should be exposed to. THOSE VOWS!!! My heart will never be the same. The love I have for these characters will stick with me for ages.
I'm glad Atlas found his fish.
