Well and Truly Pucked by Lauren Blakely

I love that Lauren Blakely isn't afraid to write in many romance genres. I love them all. MF, MM, MFM, and even MFM+!

I ADORE THEM!

This entry in the series features Briar as the FMC, and Hollis, Rhys, and Gavin as the MMCs. It's all about the girl, no sword-crossing, if that's important to you.

Briar is a bit down on her luck at the beginning of the book. Very quickly, the three hockey guys rush to help her and are immediately in her camp. Rhys knows her, Hollis is acquainted with her, and Gavin is out of her orbit - but they all have one thing in common, they dig Briar.

An event starts up at which all four of them are attending, and of course, in true romance trope-y perfection, they end up rooming together.

I really love how the relationships build upon each other. One at a time. It's incredibly believable to see her fall for each guy on his own. I like to see every character in a book have their own story and personality. It's present here for sure.

Briar is not a damsel in distress, but she definitely is a bit of a cross between ditzy and capable. It's an odd combination, but it endeared her to me right away.

Rhys is a cheeky brit with a very easy-going attitude, yet he has deep issues to conquer. Unsure of where he fits in both literally and figuratively.

Hollis wears a mask of joviality while hiding some of his past. He doesn't open up about important things easily.

Gavin is the most complicated of them all. Broody and stand-offish, yet he has a deep sense of kinship towards his teammates and friends. Hidden talents and surprising feelings are all part of his charm.

Great character arcs and relationship-building wrapped around a trope that isn't known for its intricacies. Ms. Blakely adds her talents to create a deeper story under the rom-com / why choose umbrella.

Five furry butt stars!
