I took a long break from reading. Well actually that’s not entirely true. I took a long break from READING and have been thrown into the world of “smutty” romances hidden behind the locked screen of my kindle.

I knew I needed to get going  (very late in the game) if I wanted to reach 50 books this year.

I looked through some of the reviews and I actually found this book quite entertaining and well written. I for once did not see the ending and the big twist coming and I find that thrilling. I will say it had and element of “how could this realistically happen in real life?” As if one person cannot simply go though that much but if we learn anything from the stories that inspire books everything can actually happen. What I think this book does will is highlight the inner workings of a small town where outsiders are very much on the outside. I was frustrated that fact was such a big part of the plot but I am reminded of my home town and what one would do protect that peace in the valley (yes, good and bad).

I say pick this up and give it a go. It’s a bit slow and the characters are not anything spectacular but the plot and the mountain settings make it worthwhile.

42 books to go for 2023.
