The Harvest Man by Alex Grecian

4.0

I love this Alex Grecian series so I was super excited to get an advance copy from "First to Read". This fourth book in the series was no exception to the other 3...all great! You don't need to read the others to be able to enjoy this, but I think if you have the background of the main characters (Hammersmith, in particular) you will have a better understanding of who they are.

Set in late 1800's London the book really immerses you in the time period. I think his writing really gives you a feel of the time. There are several bad guys in this book and they intertwine kind of...it was pretty easy to keep them separate. Some of the scenes are pretty disturbing, not for the feint of heart and not a good one to read when you are home alone. I don't love the Jack the Ripper story line, and it is a subplot here, but the Harvest Man story line was pretty interesting. I didn't expect the ending and now I have to wait as patiently as I possible can for the next book in the series!
