The Devil & Sherlock Holmes: Tales of Murder, Madness & Obsession by David Grann

3.0

This collection of essays is not really about Sherlock Holmes. It can loosely be characterised as about mysteries, crime or extraordinary people. It started life as a series of feature articles and they are extremely disparate.

Therefore, the book is quite hit-and-miss - I was riveted by some stories, and left feeling meh about others. Worth a look if you like essays, but not if you're in it for Sherlock Holmes.
