i think i wanted to like this book because it's iconic, it was banned/still is banned in some places, but i had to read it for school and analyze it a bunch and that took a lot of the fun out of it. besides that, i just found that the plot lagged, the characters weren't overly interesting, and it only really got my attention during the trial. before and after that, i was not interested at all.
