A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham

4.5

Ooof, this was so good. There were several twists that I did not see coming. The writing style is very engaging and advanced.
The beginning half of the book was a little bit slow and drawn out for me but I see now that it was necessary background and character development.
I docked half a star because the substance abuse of the main character, especially given her profession, was just a turn off for me that didn’t add to the story at all.
I am so sad that Chloe and Daniel didn’t end up getting married after all. When she went to Sophie’s house in the end and Daniel was there, I really thought they would get back together.
