The Great Godden, by Meg Rosoff

Such a beautifully written book, there weren't any major plotlines but it got away with it. I was entranced and enthralled and I didn't want to put it down. At one point I got so emersed that I forgot the concept of time.

The only flaw was that it bothered me not knowing the main characters name, and that there seemed to be loads of incomplete threads. However, I also loved it. I don't even know my emotions at this point
