Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers
3.0

A friend recently asked, "What are the BEST book to movie adaptations?"
Mary Poppins is now #1 on that list for me.

I have to admit, this book left me a little disappointed.
I have recently become enamored with Mary Poppins after the release of Mary Poppins Returns and watching Saving Mr. Banks. I was so excited to read such a magical story that the author clearly held very close to her heart.
I found myself with a never-ending (NOT in a good way) children's story with absolutely no storyline. By the end, I'm expected to be sad when Mary Poppins leaves, but there was no relationship there at all. I know it's a children's book, but I've read many that DO have plot lines.
I don't know. I wanted to like it so badly, but unfortunately, the movie adaptations are much better.
