You can prepare and prepare, but it's the stuff you don't anticipate that always throws you for a loop.
And it always happens. You're going about your day, and bam! An asteroid comes out of the blue, ruins your life. How are you supposed to live in a universe like that?
I’m not entirely sure how I felt about this. Paolini’s pacing is fantastic, as is his imagination. I felt the beginning - and especially the end - of this book were wildly unique. However, Paolini’s writing style didn’t completely work for me. The characters, although well defined, also were not particularly memorable to me. Overall, though, I was really pleased with this experience and found it enjoyable, if somewhat forgettable.
