I finally read it.

It was intriguing and captivating, but it could also have been shorter.

It felt a bit pretentious in the languid way that some classics do, and it's not going to bring any reader any joy. It's heavily sad in tone and plot. The characters are complex but royally messed up.

The end honestly surprised me.

Almost 4 stars then? It was entertaining, and the writing is beautiful. It's one of the only books that I've kept reading even though I wasn't rooting for any characters.

I guess it's one of those "must read". Now I can finally say I've read it.
