I went into this book knowing absolutely nothing… it wasn't until the second book that I realize this takes place in the same world as The Remnant Chronicles (which I only read the first two books, years ago, so I forgot a lot of stuff that happened in those books)

What I liked:
I love every single character in this book. Jase and Kazi are definitely in my top three favorite book couples because the way they act and move with each other is so beautiful and delicate. Both are headstrong and stubborn people which adds amusement to their little fights. I liked how Kazi interacts with death and ghosts which adds to the seriousness of the history of the people and land. Lastly, I like how the author wrote this book in a way that interacts with both past and present that adds mystery into the mix which makes the reader second guess themselves about everything.

What I did not like:
At first I did not understand the big deal of the mission that Kazi and her friends were set on but I understood that the end the gravity of the situation, however, that made me not fully connected with the plot and took me away from the main purpose of the book. The second big thing I did not enjoy was the pace of the book. There were times that I felt like it was slow but then other times it was very fast, to the point that I wanted to book to hurry up and finish so I could move on.

Overall, the book was so good and I think everyone would read this book because it has a little bit of everything.
P.S. I would have liked it if this book was not big on closed door romance but the tension and interactions with the characters made up for it.
