I love Meagan Spooner’s novels. Her ability to weave a story where you FEEL the emotions of the characters is incredible.
I really enjoyed this retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I do have to admit though, that the Beast talking in plural was hilarious to me at the start. All I could think about was Gollum. But it grew on me as the book went on and became a crucial part of indicating Beast’s humanity.
I do love how the romance in this novel is so cautious and never shies away from the brutality of Beast’s curse. It’s not at all like the rainbows and sunshine of the Disney movie, and I love that.
Definitely worth a read.
