Whisked Away by the Alien by Julie K. Cohen, Julie K. Cohen
3.0
He has two dicks and this still bored me…am I broken?
Ok, this was cute and silly with many slap stick elements, but it didn't have enough plot to sustain its length, so it dragged a lot for me.
The alien in this was funny and he had two dicks, so points for creativity, I mean, read this just for that, the smut scenes were ridiculous. Unfortunately everything else was mid.
I’m kind of over the awkward, horny older virgin heroine in this trope. It makes the cringe levels too high. Also, the gags got repetitive. We get that he’s a fish out of water and doesn’t understand idioms etc, but it was like a one trick pony. Once or twice is funny, twenty times? you’re boring.
Lastly, the Hanukkah moments felt a bit teachy. I went into this because it was set at Hanukkah, and I expected that to include traditions, food and that cozy feeling, and it did for the most part, but I didn’t need the long winded explanations posing as dialogue. Loved the Hanukkah elements, but the instructional moments were too much. I mean, this book is about a virgin getting dicked-down by a blue alien with two peens, no one cares about the menorah.
Overall the above just added to the too long feeling of this. It didn’t really have enough story to support its length so it got tiresome for me. I also think this is a carryover book from another series, so maybe some of the world building was done there, because here it was a bit lacking. Not enough that I felt that I didn’t know what was going on, but more that I wasn’t invested enough in these characters.
A less picky person might be able to enjoy this for its fluffy, brain candy elements, but for me I got bored and stopped caring.
