Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century by Alice Wong

5.0

The range of perspectives here makes this a valuable read for many walks of life - and I imagine anyone would find at least one, if not all, of these essays/stories to be educational. Both physical disabilities and mental disabilities get their time in the arena here and hearing directly from the disabled instead of those outside looking in only increases the benefit of this collection.

The main limit in perspective here is the focus on America. If you are looking for disability perspectives outside of the USA, this collection will not address your questions. I highly, highly suggest picking this up and giving it a read.
