Loved this novel of mid-1950s Britain. I could hardly wait to get back to it every time I had to stop. The characters - especially Penelope, Harry, Inigo and Charlotte - were just my type. But mostly I liked seeing how youth and exuberance returned after so many years of war and deprivation. So many books are written about the war and even inter-war years. This was a whole new perspective for me.
