Truth or Dare by Mira Lyn Kelly
4.0

I cannot decide whether to rate this book a 3 or a 4. I am deciding on a 4 because what it does well, it does very well.

Maggie has sworn off romantic relationships due to a bad experience with her ex-fiancé. Her best friend, Ava, decides they need to try to date and they make a bet to go on one date a month. If they don't, then they other the other person a day at the spa. This bet is complicated by Tyler moving into the apartment upstairs. Maggie and Tyler are attracted to one another. Tyler is unavailable for a romantic relationship, and you find out why half way through the book.

The best part about this book was the dialogue. The dialogue between Maggie and Tyler, as well as among Ava, Ford, and Sam was fantastic and witty. The sexual chemistry between Maggie and Tyler was also fantastic. The relationships between the friends were amusing to read. The sex scenes were well written and not over the top. Based on all of this, I would rate the book 5 stars.

So why am I debating a 3 star rating? I did not like Tyler's big reason for not wanting a relationship. I also did not finish the book, but kept going solely due to the dialogue. I also felt it ended abruptly with some untidy ends.

That said, I will likely read the next book in the series as I would love to see things play out between Sam and Ava.
