Excellent book. This is the first by this author after having had him recommended to me multiple times in the past. This book was great! Poignant, sad, beautifully written, heart break, and adventure. The author is a very talented writer. His prose is tremendous. The setting is medieval Spain with a twist. It's a beautifully realized world.

Admittedly, this book maybe isn't for everyone. It's steeped in lore, and if you can't draw parallels to medieval Spain you may miss some of the brilliance in this story.
