Wait for You
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
3.5 out of 5
I'm just gonna go ahead and state that JLA is the best at creating dreamy guys. How does she do it every single time?? I must know!!
Okay let's start... I would definitely give this a 4 or 4.5 star but after all the whining Avery did, I just cannot. Yes, I know she is damaged and tortured but if a guy like Cam is coming at you, then you need to start opening up! It was just frustrating cause Cam is so understanding and ready to know all about her past but she keeps shutting him out! Ughhh
Anyways the first half of the book was amazing. The mystery of what had happened with Avery and also Cam made me fly through it, and then the second half where Avery just kept pushing Cam away messed it all up. It was still a great read though.
And don't get me started on Avery's parents. I loathe them. What kind of parents make their 14 year old daughter do that? That is seriously so messed up. Part of me understands why Avery was so careful about anyone knowing her past after how her parents reacted. She was afraid that everyone would blame her and what not. But Cam has always been assuring her that he will be there with her throughout everything, yet she still shuts down.
If it was just for Cam I would give it 10/5 stars. He is perfect! Give me a Cam for myself. He is uber hot, charming, funny, caring, and so protective. He is a perfect package. Seriously, can't get enough of him. Cam is going on the book-boyfriend list for sure.
JLA is one of my favorite authors, so anything she writes is not disappointing at all. I have always loved her writing style. Its extremely easy to be hooked on it and it flows so well. And like I said she creates the best male characters...*cough* *DAEMON* *cough* 💕
Overall, I was very satisfied with the ending. I even grew to like Avery at the end again as she came to terms with her past. Can't wait to dive in the rest of the books now.
