Tall, Dark and Irresistible
by Erika Wilde
What a hot, steamy and wonderful romance story Erika Wilde wrote with Tall, Dark, and Irresistible, book two in her Tall, Dark, and Sexy Series. After being left at the altar, Leo Stone does not believe in love and struggles with trusting women. Peyton Bishop remembered her chemistry lab partner and used his name and pictures of him to appease her overbearing parents’ worries about her living across the country in New York City. When Peyton returns to San Diego for her cousin’s wedding she asks Leo to pretend to be her boyfriend after coming clean about what she told her parents.
I love how independent Peyton was yet still the loving daughter, not wanting to upset her parents. Peyton and Leo might have known each other back in college but spending time together emphasized not only their attraction but also the chemistry sparking between them. They got along quite well, as if this wasn’t a reunion of acquaintances but long time lovers. Leo’s role in this charade was played well and he showered Peyton with attention and adoration, but I was surprised by his reaction to Peyton’s use of those 3 special words, I Love You. I thought that with all the care and compassion Peyton gave to him that he had recovered from the awful feelings he had after not being enough for his ex. However, when he realized his mistake, Leo made more than a grand effort to compensate for it, letting Peyton know how he truly felt.
Ms. Wilde wrote a wonderful, sexy story; filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. I so enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, turning page after page, wanting more once I turned that last page. In fact I read this book in one day. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to her next book in this series.
