In the Garden of Beasts: Love and Terror in Hitler's Berlin by Erik Larson

5.0

This was written so well.  Ngl I knew I’d enjoy this bc I’ve enjoyed the previous two Larson books I’ve read, but I think this one has to be my favourite of the three.  The subject matter was super interesting - I’d never rlly thought about ambassadors at the time of hitler gaining power etc in Germany + so I learnt a lot about how it was seen not only from the outside (politicians in America and out of Germany) but also how it was seen from the inside track to foreigners and people who were from Germany.  Rlly found this interesting and the end was well done in the sense that it discussed the future of each of the people discussed without biting off more than it could chew.
