I'm not fond of the main characters portrayal, Pat seemed so infantile reading his perspective hurt at times. I also think that the therapist made some really bad decisions - what good therapist lets their patient believe that they cursed a game? And actually encourages Pat to comply with his father's unreasonable demands and mood swings. I also thought that Tiffany was super mean in the book, it's quite hard to buy that they fell in love. She either doesn't talk or curses, especially in the training montage.
Overall I hope more mental health struggles are portrayed in media in the future, but I have some issues with how it was done here.
