Rust & Stardust by T. Greenwood

This is a unique based-on-a-true story that attempts to give voice and perspective to a victim (and her family). One element that stood out to me personally from this story was the mother's disability. Chronic pain and parenting are such a difficult balance. It was also heartbreaking to understand the pull she felt to give her daughter an experience that she couldn't at that moment...and what it led to for their family. Once I got near the end of this book, I couldn't put it down. It's definitely not a happy story or book.
Reason for rating: This book surprised me in that for most of it, I would have rated it 3 stars (generally OK/glad I read it but nothing particularly great). By the end, it had managed to pull some surprises but also some unexpected realities that I think are often overlooked. So by the end-4 stars from me.
