The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

challenging emotional hopeful inspiring reflective

4.5

What an honest and profoundly beautiful depiction of depression and anxiety. When books (especially YA ones) are as enmeshed in the popular culture as Perks has become, I tend to assume they’ll be overhyped, but this exceeded my wildest expectations. It spoke directly to me as a 27 year old woman, and it’s obvious to me that it would have changed my life had I read it as a teenager.
