A Taste of Sage by Yaffa S. Santos
3.0
Diverse cast of characters: Yes

Chef Lumi (🇩🇴) is picking herself up after closing her restaurant in The Heights and takes a sous chef job at a fine dining restaurant run by a hot (and HOT) chef Julien Dax. Because Lumi had her trust broken by her ex-fiance and a lifetime of her mother warning her about men ruining her life, Lumi holds her heart close to her, as well as a secret - that every time she eats food, she can taste the emotions of the person who cooked it.

Glad to see Dominican representation. Less enthused about the
Esme
storyline, Julien's instalove, and the general lack of concern about power dynamics in the workplace. Oh and apples in a ratatouille (call me old-fashioned?).

Tropes: enemies to lovers, fish out of water, workplace romance

Vibes: Simply Irresistible (movie)
