Immortal Pleasures by V. Castro

I wanted to love this book so badly!!!
It has a really cool premise and a very interesting commentary on colonialism. I loved reading the backstories of the vampires and my rage against the colonizers was at full display throughout this read.

Sadly though that was the only good part. The story was so rushed, and there were some stuff that had more time to be explored that truly didn’t need so much time since they didn’t pay off at the end.

Non spoilery spoilers:
The instalove also made me roll my eyes way too many times especially after the initial instalove with the other character. What was the point of it, of her leaving, and regretting it and coming back for a second chance to again let go of it within days and then switching partners (but no truly this is the love of my life this time 🙄). This vampire was way too old to be behaving like such an insecure and overthinking teenager.

The book was spicy and high I enjoyed, although again, with the wrong character in the wrong time 😅 and Latinx rep will always be dear to my heart, which is why it pains me so much to not have loved this.
