The Human Chair by Edogawa Rampo

5.0

I just reread this and my god do I love it. The writing is accessible, easy and incredibly vivid. It leaves you feeling haunted and uncomfortable, driving its vile claws right into your soul.
The Human Chair is the kind of story you think about for days, weeks, months after reading it.
It is creepy, disturbing and, despite its age, still feels quite new in its motifs and imagery.
A true masterpiece and one of my all time favourites.
