Spider-Man: Life Story by Chip Zdarsky

This is the first spiderman comic I read cover to cover. It's hard for me to review so there's no point of comparison for me, making it difficult to rate, but I can say a little. My reading experience for Life Story was interspersed with a lot of me checking with my local Spiderman Expert (whomst also recommended it to me) that I was following along, and that the crazy plotpoints being referenced were part of some original canon, but despite that I didn't have a hard time following it. That's a pretty strong testament to the writing with a project as ambitious as this, where the writers had to pick and choose the uncountable ways that Spiderman is constantly having a godawful time. This guy just can't catch a break.

Overall it was a clusterfuck but a pretty delightful one. It establishes characters well more often than not, and the artstyle feels rather timeless. A really strong ending. It's terribly breakneck but it sort of has to be, so I give it a pass. Really fun.
