The Big Door Prize by M.O. Walsh
Did not finish book.
“Could something even be a destiny if you don’t know it exists until your life is half over?”

premise
“It is a simple-looking machine, sitting next to the customer service desk.… promises to tell you your potential in life, what your body and mind are capable of doing, based on the science of DNA.… This kind of talk is enough to make you curious, to make anyone curious, the way word of a simple and miraculous new diet might do, and it costs only two dollars to try.”

tldr / long story short
It turned out to be something that I did not expect. It could’ve been better if it was in a different format, like a short story collection all adhering to the concept. Like The One by John Marrs. I stopped after Chapter 7.

initial thoughts
I was very excited to read this book because you know… it might give me a sense of life. The prologue was very convincing, but it wend downhill from there for me. Maybe I would give this a retry in the future.
