I struggled with how to rate this book.  I liked the book and the characters. However, the story itself felt somehow oversimplified and Pollyanna-ish. I didn't look at when this was written, but I am wondering if it was one of her earlier works before she really evolved to where she is as an author now. That said, it wasn't a bad book and I was glad I read it. It was just oversimplified.
