Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller
3.0

3.8 - It wasn't nearly as good as the first. This felt rushed in so many places that needed to have more explanation, the romance was unnecessarily irritating (sometimes lack of communication as a plot mover is ~okay, but this time it was just ridiculous), many parts were confusing due to the first problems listed, her relationship with her mother was really unrealistic and seemed to just be washed over and it just lacked the overall appeal the first book had. Both are good, neither are perfect or jaw-dropping, but this one felt like a placation to the cliffhanger left from the first book. I was disappointed. It was slow at times and then had the drama and angst, but the drama with the romance was annoying and the dealing with her being and growing as a siren was so trivialized. I think this book had good pieces but a poor execution. I know it's not meant to be the best pirate book ever read, but if you introduce things don't just haphazardly carry them out.
