Broken Knight by L.J. Shen

Oh boy, this book was deeper than I thought. At this point I keep sobbing but it was worth every tear.
Broken Knight is the second book of All Saints High Series. Knight is the son of Dean and Rosie Cole, the couple from the second book in the Sinners of Saint series, I know, sounds complicated but it’s so worth it. I recommend reading first at least Pretty Reckless but if it’s possible, the Sinner of Saint series because Broken Knight has some spoilers about them. But it can be read as a stand-alone.
Knight has a thing trying to protect his neighbor whenever he sees her struggle. During their life they kept being close; during the night they slept together and during the day he protects her from bullies. Luna has her own past which keeps hunting her and keeps her from speaking, she decides to learn sign language to communicate. Most of the time Knight helped her translate. But being that close isn’t enough for Knight because he wants the real deal with Luna, only she keeps pushing him away, avoiding their hearts to be hurt. We follow their story as they learn how to deal with their life, decide to grow up, go through hell, and be whole to be worthy of their love.
This story is full of surprising things, difficult situations but the gift of living a love so powerful that not even tragedy could break. Such an emotional story with lots of angst and hilarious comebacks. You won’t be disappointed at all.
@ljshen writing is so easy to get caught in it. She rights so deeply that you are left with a hangover.

Knight was just a kid that didn’t feel love. He grew up feeling unworthy and honestly the greatest love he’d, died. I love that Knight was Rosie’s favorite son because he deserved so much more and I hope he gets it with Dixie. I got really sad when he decided he couldn’t handle his emotions and he overdosed. That punch me really hard. Also, he was a virgin! Like what? I never thought about it, I thought he was just as bad as his dad. Which brings me to Dean; his greatest love died, I couldn’t be more devastated for that, they went through a lot and he lost her at the end.
Luna is such a strong character but she can be really frustrating sometimes. She loved him and they’re several situations in which she knew she could say something to prevent them from hurting each other, but she did it anyway. It wasn’t cool who she lost her virginity to but at the moment that was what she wanted and it was ok for me. Overall she grew up so fast and she overcame her insecurities, which was the best thing that leads to leaving her home. I was really proud of how she stood for herself but some things were just so predictable because she could’ve prevented them. She’s no perfect but in the end she’s just an invisible woman. I can’t wait to meet their baby.
