Whatever you've done or not done, I'm going to take care of you.

Sorrowland had my attention from beginning until end. It's one of the first books I've picked up in years that made me want to reread sections immediately after finishing it. Solomon's ability to truly immerse the reader in a supernatural world cannot be understated.

This work is raw and viscerally upsetting, and its themes of racial trauma, religious zeal, and colonialism are treated with the utmost care, but more than that, they were uplifted by an incredible protagonist and the fascinating, courageous story she leads.
