An interesting story about how two escaped inmates put a town on lockdown, which brings out the best, and the worst, in people. It also addresses accidental, stereotypical, and systematic racism as the new girl in town is one of only a handful of black people in the town. She encounters people who are purposely discriminatory, but also some who say things due to lack of knowledge and unfair stereotypes. Good book, would recommend.
Moderate: Bullying, Racism
Minor: Police brutality
