Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid
2.0

This book had a lot of potential, but the beginning and end were boring and lack luster. I found the character of HUDSON to be one dimensional. He had no personality which is why it took me three tries to finally get through his section of the book. The first 20 pages are HUDSON pining over a girl he's just met. The saving grace for Alsaid's book however are the three character in between HUDSON and LEILA's chapters. BREE, ELLIOT, and SONIA breathe life into what would be an excruciatingly boring book. While BREE does not have the most believable or thought out story her antics of seizing the day are at least entertaining compared to Hudson. ELLIOT is the true shining star in the book however. His nightlong quest to get the perfect rom-com ending had me hanging on every word to see what would happen. ELLIOT's section actually had you guessing will he or won't he get the girl. Like BREE, SONIA had somewhat of an unrealistic story, but her and LEILA's hijinks trying to get back into Canada had me laughing. SONIA's section also introduced the reader to the all knowing Stoner Timmy who really deserves a book all to himself. While LEILA's section does provide more knowledge about her past it also goes back to focusing on her boring infatuation with HUDSON. All in all the book had great potential, but by forcing a relationship Alsaid lost all of that.
