I did really enjoy this and the beauty and the beast aspect. I liked the Mafia aspect and how this continued from something that happened in the first book. My issue with this is how young Nessa seemed compared to Mikolaj. Though she was 19 and he was 26 it felt more like he was 26 but she was 15/16. Nessa just seemed to naive and oblivious to stuff despite being a part of an Irish Mafia family. I get she didn't take part in the illegal activity but she knew what her family was and I just couldn't buy how innocent and weak she was. This also meant that the banter between the two wasn't there as she was always intimidated and scared to start and even when things crossed the line, she still never seemed strong. I just wish there was more to Nessa and she was able to go head to head with Mikolaj, rather than just hold onto his heals like a lost puppy. I liked the ending and there were some great moments. I am intrigued by the rest of the family so am looking forward to continue the series.
