All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks

Some of this is progressive, but some suffers from being 20 years old. I would have appreciated context that included or celebrated love between more than one romantic partner (polyamory) and a bit more inclusion to non-heteronormatic people's. Most of the context was on a gender binary, and while the intent was to be observational about what "stereotypical [men/women]" exhibit (in the late 90s), it left the trans community feeling underrepresented.
I think this would be a good book for someone born in the 60s or so - where a lot of the cause/effect derived in her sentiments comes from. And I'd like to see a modernized update on this, something that reflects the current social experience.
