I was hoping this would be more of an adventure than it was.  The pacing was plodding and there was a huge amount of focus placed on the set-up of the plot and general musings about clairvoyancy, rather than portraying the febrile atmosphere of occupied France in World War II.

It also irritated me to no end that the two sisters I was most interested in got very little time in the book, whilst all the focus was placed on the two sisters that had no personality whatsoever except for thinking about the people they fancied and blundering into bits of the plot every chapter or so!
